Players Code of Conduct

De La Salle Old Collegians Amateur Football Club (DLSOCAFC) is committed to providing men and women with the opportunity to play an enjoyable and competitive game of Australian Rules football in a safe and supportive environment. This code of conduct has been developed to give every player an understanding of their personal responsibilities to ensure that these objectives are met.
Every Player will:
respect the rights, dignity and worth of all individuals by refraining from any discriminatory practices including, but not limited to, discrimination on the basis of age, race, religion, gender, ethnic background, disability, sexual orientation, preference or identity
understand and at all times play by the AFL Laws of the Game (https://play.afl/clubhelp/resources/laws-game) and the rules, guidelines and policies of the Victorian Amateur Football Association – VAFA (https://www.vafa.com.au/club-info/rules/)
at all times respect umpires, players and supporters by refraining from on-field and off-field behaviour which may bring disrepute to themselves and the Club
demonstrate a commitment to the team rules and player guidelines as determined by the Club and VAFA. Listening to the Coach and at all times refraining from abusing other players or deliberately provoking an opponent
respect the use of facilities and the equipment provided
reject the use of performance-enhancing substances in sport, note that the Club does not in any way condone or support the use of illicit drugs, and abide by the guidelines in AFL Anti-doping and Illicit Drugs policies (https://www.afl.com.au/news/1157798/some-facts-on-the-afl-illicit-drugs-policy) as well as the Club’s own Illegal Drugs Policy
Breach of this Code of Conduct
Any complaints alleging a breach of this Code of Conduct will be treated very seriously and investigated in accordance with the grievance process endorsed by the De La Salle Old Collegians Amateur Football Club Committee.
If it is found that the player in question breached this Code of Conduct, then penalties will be imposed which range from a warning or suspension, to immediate player de-registration.
