Supporters Code of Conduct

DLSF GOV 3-03

APPROVED BY COMMITTEE: … MARCH 2024

De La Salle Old Collegians Amateur Football Club (DLSOCAFC) is committed to providing men and women with the opportunity to play an enjoyable and competitive game of Australian Rules Football in a safe and supportive environment. This code of conduct has been developed to give supporters an understanding of their responsibilities to ensure these objectives are met.

At De La, we are passionate about our footy – we all (personally and collectively) have a role to play in keeping our emotions in check and in line with acceptable standards of behaviour.

All Supporters will:

  • respect the rights, dignity and worth of all individuals, by refraining from any discriminatory practices including, but not limited to, discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, ethnic background, special ability/disability or sexual orientation, preference or identity

  • refrain from using verbal or physical abuse in any form, whether it is against spectators, match officials or players

  • at all times respect the decisions of umpires and match officials. Never publicly criticise umpires – if necessary, raise personal concerns with club officials

  • at all times refrain from utilising inappropriate language

  • refrain from deliberately provoking opposition players or officials including umpires

  • avoid any remarks that could be construed as offensive or discriminatory

  • never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support

  • at all times respect the facilities and the equipment provided

  • not consume alcohol during VAFA games except at officially designated events.

Breach of this Code of Conduct

Any supporters who bring the DLSOCAFC into disrepute through breaching this Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the grounds by a Club Official – further action may be taken if considered appropriate by the Club
